Melanie Zimmer has been a storyteller for over a decade, presenting her
stories in schools, libraries, at festivals and for telvision audiences. She has been featured on the Mike Price
Segment of Channel Nine News, and has narrated "Peter and the Wolf" with the Syracuse Symphony. She has
presented her stories, and storytelling workshop for the Morrisville Writer's Jubilee, and performed original work
for Telebration. Melanie Zimmer was a long time member of the Pearl in the Egg Storytelling Guild, and is a member
of the League for the Advancement of New England Storytelling. She has studied voice with acting speech pathologist
Jean Armstrong in Portland Maine and the Alexander Technique for Voice & Movement with Martha Hjortshoj of
Ithaca, New York through grants from the New York Foundation for the Arts and the Upper Catskill Community Arts
Council.
She has recently authored two books, Forgotten Tales of New York and Myths, Legends and Lore: Central New York and the Finger Lakes for The History Press. |
